Working time tracking

Tutorials and guides for the features of Octaved Flow

Working hours can be tracked in Octaved Flow both manually and automatically. Working time is tracked independently of the project time.
To start a new working time tracking manually at the beginning of a working day, click on My workspace > Track time 1 on the tab My working time 2 and then on the green button Track working time of the current day. 3
Arbeitszeit erfassen
The start time of the working time tracking is then pre-filled in the following dialog. To start an ongoing working time tracking, simply leave out the end time and save.
Dialog Arbeitszeiterfassung
An ongoing working time tracking is then represented by a green bar in the calendar view under Track time.

Ending a working time tracking

If you want to end the working time tracking, for example to take a break, click the blue button Finish 1 and save the current end time in the following dialog.
Zeiterfassung beenden
If work starts again after the break, a new working time tracking is started for the rest of the day via the green button Track working time.

Automatic working time tracking

If you track time on a work package, you can make it easier to track working time by activating the function Create working time tracking automatically from project working time. This setting can be found at the bottom left of the user menu under My settings in the Advanced > Features section.
If automatic working time tracking is activated, working time tracking starts as soon as a user posts project time to a work package. This means that the working time does not have to be tracked manually, but is based on the tracked project time.

Color of the working time tracking bar

The color of the working time tracking bar in the calendar view has a special meaning:
  • A green bar indicates an ongoing working time tracking.
  • A dark gray bar indicates a completed working time tracking.
  • If the bar is light gray, automatic time tracking is activated and project time is tracked to a work package.
  • A red bar indicates a problem with working time tracking. Possible warnings are issued if the user tracks more than 10 hours or does not take a legally prescribed break of at least 30 minutes.
