User Types
The user type determines how a user can work in Octaved Flow and how they are licensed: standard users for internal staff, guest users with limited access, virtual users without login, and API users for system integrations.
Standard user
Standard users have access to the full functionality of Octaved Flow, depending on the respective license level (Starter, Professional, Business or Enterprise). Internal users should be created as standard users.
Light user
Light users are standard users for whom customer-specific restrictions apply and for whom a corresponding discount on the license price has been agreed. For details on the restrictions and the license price, see the offer/order.
Guest user
Guest users have fewer functions available to them in Octaved Flow than standard users. For example, they cannot track time or plan projects. A guest user can be granted access to a project or sub-project. Which authorizations the guest user has there can be defined via guest roles.
The licenses for guest users are assigned dynamically according to the MAU model (Monthly Active Users). MAU means that the guest user is active in Octaved Flow at least once a month. If the guest user is not active in a month, the license is suspended for that month and you pay nothing.
Virtual user
Virtual users cannot log into Octaved Flow. Virtual users are used, for example, for resource planning for employees in the warehouse or in production when these employees do not need access to Octaved Flow. Another use case is to track the project time of external employees and freelancers so that this time can be invoiced to the customer. Note: If external employees or freelancers are to track their project times themselves, they must be created as standard users.
API user
API users are used to synchronize existing systems, such as your ERP or ticket system, with Octaved Flow. This is best done by your IT department.
