Labels

Labels let you mark projects, sub-projects, work packages, and time tracking entries, for example for priorities, workflows, or controlling. Labels are defined centrally.

You can use labels to mark projects, sub-projects, work packages or time tracking entries. Labels can for example be "Prio-1", "Prio-2", "Risk" and "In progress." You can use labels for priorities, for a workflow, for controlling and for various other things. The idea of labels is that they can be freely defined and used and are therefore extremely flexible.

In order to still maintain control with the high flexibility, labels are defined centrally in Octaved Flow. So that everyone can work with labels, you should define a sufficient number of different labels. However, if there are too many, it could become unclear which label should be used when. Finding the "golden mean" is not always easy.

If you don't work with project folders, the following text is not relevant to you.

You can define labels on the top, global level. These are then available for projects in all project folders. And of course for sub-projects, work packages and time tracking entries for these projects - if they are activated accordingly under "Use for". You can define additional labels in a project folder. These are then available in this project folder and in all project folders below. So the process is additive. In a project folder you cannot switch off defined labels globally or in a project folder, you can only add more.
